What is included in a Pontoon Boat tour?
A pontoon boat tour on Lake Wylie can consist of whatever the group would like to do. I can make some suggestions of good areas to swim, lounge, eat lunch or dinner, and sight see. Ultimately, I want you to enjoy your time on Lake Wylie. You may also bring and enjoy your own adult beverage, knowing that an experienced, sober captain is at the helm. Our standard trip is typically a Two-Hour tour. The rates include up to 6 people, fuel, docking, a professional & knowledgeable USCG Captain. The tour will include bottled water and snacks.
Unfortunately, due to liability, I am currently unable to rent my pontoon boat for the Tours. What are the regulations for life jackets?
Anyone 13 years or younger MUST have a US Coast Guard Approved Life Jacket on at ALL times (boat on or off, moving or stopped, anchored or not).
Can you help me with Wake Surfing, Water Skiing, Wake Boarding, or other water sports?
Yes, that is what we are here to promote. While I am not an expert in these activities, I can help you with technique and learning the basics. I can drive the boat while you demonstrate your skills--let’s have some fun together!
Lake Wylie Boating started because of a love of Wake Surfing. While I do have basic equipment you can use, I encourage you to bring your own surf boards, water skis and other equipment.
Whose Boat is Used When Training?
Lake Wylie Boating offers a professional licensed captain, who holds a United States Coast Guard License, and has extensive experience on many types of vessels. I will give you hands-on experience on your boat, so that you learn how to operate safely for not only your passengers, but other people out on the Lake. Keep in mind that developing skills requires Hands on Experience with your own boat at your own dock.
**Taking a Boater Safety class is only PART of the journey to safe boating**
Can you tube or ski behind a pontoon?
Providing the engine is big enough, this is a great option. The engine needs to be above 150 HP for water skiing and above 50 for all other activities.
For anyone over the age of 13, your life jacket and throw cushion should be readily accessible and you should know where the life jackets and throw cushion is located on the boat at all times.
What is the cancellation policy?
No refunds will be given for client cancellations. If the Captain must cancel a tour due to weather or other reason, your deposit will be refunded.
Is there a deposit required for booking?
Yes. There is a $50, non-refundable deposit on all tours. Of course, in the case of a Small Craft Advisory &/or Captain's Call Cancellation, you would receive your deposit back. The deposit does come off the total bill.
